About Us

For those of you who have yet to spend time with us on Safari deep in the African wilderness, let us introduce ourselves.

Conservationists at heart, our profession as Wildlife Guides carries us far and wild as we explore Southern Africa searching for her natural wonders, a deeply felt, ingrained passion for the African wilderness that has brought us together as a couple.

We are Dave and Ankia , Safari Guides with a passion for sharing the wonders of our beloved wild Africa with our guests.

Dave Pusey

Dave’s inquiring mind and thirst for knowledge as a Naturalist have inspired his exploration of Southern Africa’s greatest wilderness areas his whole life, the last 15 years as a Professional Guide in South Africa. After gaining experience initially in the Kwazulu Natal & Eastern Cape Reserves he then moved to the Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand & Timbavati Private Reserves. Many expeditions deep into the wildest corners of Southern Africa continue to grow his passion and expertise in the entire region.

Birding is a major passion and tracking the ancient elephant paths and uncovering the little bush treasures on foot is another passion as he continues to log hours on Wilderness Trails.

His years based in the world renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve were the realisation of a lifelong fascination with Big Cats and their complex behaviour.

Dave’s passion for photography and videography enables him to capture and share some fascinating stories of the wild.

Dave shares his passion and knowledge of African wildlife, destinations, culture and history, ensuring a holistic understanding of the African wilderness for his valued guests.

Ankia Pusey

Ankia’s love for the wilderness began as a young girl during her yearly family trips to the Manyeleti Game Reserve during the prime winter months. These many months spent absorbing one of the richest wildlife areas in Africa were the beginning of her passion and dream to work in Africa's great conservation areas.

After achieving a photography degree she then studied and acquired her Professional Guiding qualifications, beginning her guiding career in the Kruger National Park.

Her inquiring mind has led to an in depth knowledge of every aspect of the wild, from her favourite mammals, the endangered Wild Dog and elusive Honey Badger, to the the smaller lesser seen creatures of the eco systems in the region.

For the last 13 years the Greater Kruger has been her base, guiding in a number of private reserves while exploring Southern Africa’s other great wilderness areas and growing her expertise in the entire region.

As one of only a handful of female Professional Private Guides, Ankia shares her passion for people and her in-depth knowledge of African wildlife, in a refreshingly unique manner, always leaving her thrilled guests totally captivated.
